Section: Statistics and Data Analysis
Date: Tuesday, April 17
Time: 4:00 pm
Paper #: 176-2007
Room: Southern Hemisphere III

Computer experiments and other in-silico research initiatives are becoming more important now with advances in modeling and computational speed. Gaussian process models and the space-filling designs built for them are becoming popular. Variance transmission studies for tolerance design have seen breakthroughs. Large scale analytics is becoming much better for hierarchical clustering, VOC surveys, and capability summaries. Visualization advances are being made not just in 3-D, but now with 4th-dimensional smooth-animation techniques.

JMP® 7: Statistical Discovery Meets SAS® Business Intelligence

Speakers: Eric Hill, John Schroedl, and Jon Weisz, JMP

Section: BI Forum
Date: Wednesday, April 18
Time: 3:30 pm
Paper #: 255-2007
Room: Northern Hemisphere A-4

This paper will explore how incorporating JMP® into your SAS® Business Intelligence infrastructure will enable more interactive analysis and visualization of your SAS® data than was previously possible.

JMP statistical discovery software from SAS uses a structured, problem-centered approach for exploring and analyzing data on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. The intelligent interface guides users to the right analyses. JMP automatically displays graphs with statistics, enabling users to visualize and uncover data patterns.

JMP has always had some level of integration with Base SAS®, but—with JMP® 7—JMP is fully integrated with the SAS®9 Business Intelligence architecture. JMP users can now connect to SAS metadata servers, making JMP aware of all of the SAS servers and data sources that the user has access to in the organization. Metadata-defined SAS data sources can be easily imported into JMP, either in their entirety or using filters. Also, SAS® Stored Processes can be executed directly from JMP and even customized to take full advantage of JMP’s interactive statistical discovery features.
