JMP® Software: Modern Screening Designs

Instructor: Mark Bailey
Date/Time: Monday, Sept. 15, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Building F, Training Room 202
Standard Price: $650
Conference Attendee Price: $520 (650 SAS Training Points / 1.3 EPTOs)

Course Description

This advanced course presents strategies and methods for designing experiments to screen many factors in an optimal study, and is designed to help scientists and engineers choose an appropriate technique for their particular situation.
This is a one-day subset of the full two-day course, but participants will receive the course notes from the two-day course.

Learn how to:
Recognize situations that benefit from a screening experiment.
Make a fractional factorial design or Plackett-Burman design.
Make an orthogonal or near-orthogonal array or a definitive screening design.
Make a Bayesian D-optimal design or split-plot design with custom design.
Identify situations where each of the screening designs might be most useful.

Who Should Attend

Advanced JMP analysts who need to screen many factors through experimentation.

JMP® Software:  Modeling Multidimensional Data

Instructor: Di Michelson
Date/Time:  Monday, Sept. 15, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Building F, Training Room B
Standard Price:  $650
Conference Attendee Price: $520 (650 SAS Training Points / 1.3 EPTOs)

Course Description

This course is for JMP users who need to build descriptive and predictive models between sets of multidimensional data. The course demonstrates various ways of performing supervised learning where the relationships among both the output variables and the input variables are considered in building these models. Strong emphasis is put on understanding the results of the analysis and presenting your conclusions with graphs. This is a follow-up to last year’s Analyzing Multidimensional Data course.

Learn how to:
Classify observations into groups with discriminant analysis.
Build more stable models by removing collinearity with principal components regression (PCR).
Fit complex multivariate predictive models with partial least squares (PLS) regression models.

Who Should Attend

Individuals who work with high-dimensional data and have a need to build models to predict response outcome(s) or group assignments.

Consumer Choice Research: Hearing the Voice of the Consumer With JMP®

Instructor: Walter Paczkowski
Date/Time: Monday, Sept. 15, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Building F, Training Room A
Standard Price: $650
Conference Attendee Price: $520 (650 SAS Training Points / 1.3 EPTOs)

Course Description

A straightforward framework will show how to use JMP to design, model and analyze consumer choice data. This Business Knowledge Series (BKS*) workshop focuses on defining the consumer’s choice problem for a new product or line extension, specifying a theoretical framework for guidance, designing choice sets and estimating econometric choice models.

Learn how to:
Design choice studies.
Model and analyze choice data.

Who Should Attend

Managers and analysts who get their hands dirty with consumer choice studies: collecting data, building models, evaluating statistics and doing the calculations.

JMP® Scripting Forum

Moderator: Wayne Levin
Date/Time: Thursday, Sept. 18, 1 - 5 p.m.
Location: Building F, Training Room 101
Standard Price: $325
Conference Attendee Price: $260 (325 SAS Training Points / 0.6 EPTOs)

Course Description

Expand your insights into the JMP Scripting Language (JSL) as you listen to a panel of experienced JMP scripters discuss specific JSL applications, including areas necessary to harness JSL’s full abstraction capabilities. These insights are best understood through live demonstration. Attendees will be encouraged to ask the panel questions, and a moderator will guide the interactive dialogue. This session will be a valuable forum for users who want to advance their application of JSL.

Prerequisites: Before attending this course, it is recommended that you complete the Introduction to the JMP Scripting Language course or have equivalent experience.

Who Should Attend

Anyone familiar with JMP who wants to advance his or her JSL skills.
