A Day of Firsts All the Way Around

The inaugural meeting of the first-ever JMP regional users group drew more than 50 people to the SAS office in Chicago on April 1. The kickoff for the Great Lakes JMP Users Group attracted more than 50 software users from Minnesota, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois. Also on hand were John Wass, a longtime JMP user who organized the meeting, and John Sall, SAS co-founder and lead architect of JMP software.

Ron Halverson, president of the Halverson Group, used bubble plots to illustrate how JMP lets retailers visualize business growth. Bubble plots are interactive scatterplots introduced last year in JMP 7.

Sall demonstrated many new features in JMP 7, and JMP Systems Engineer Jeff Hawes elicited “sighs and gasps,” according to one report, with his Tips, Tricks and Techniques presentation.
