READ MORE Learn DOE with Paper Helicopters at the 11th Annual Lean Management Conference Tom Jackson, a consultant with taktX, will give a workshop, Practical Design of Experiments, at the 11th Annual Lean Management Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Arlington, VA. The goal of the workshop is to demystify Design of Experiments for lean practitioners. He will give participants a pre-designed experiment to load into JMP. Participants will generate data by dropping paper helicopters and timing their descent. JMP will use the data to generate a "response surface" that will indicate an optimal design for the helicopter. The workshop will conclude with a debrief, in which Jackson will compare participants' results with results he has generated by dropping helicopters (over and over and over) in his garage in Portland, Oregon.
