Latest Version of JMP® Hits Desktops Worldwide
JMP 8 for Windows has started shipping, and users are finding lots to love in the new version. (Macintosh and Linux users can expect versions for their operating systems in April 2009.) Topping the list of popular new features in JMP 8 is the Graph Builder, which lets you explore and visualize data by dragging and dropping variables onto a graph. You get instantaneous results as you create and refine your graphs. The Choice platform is another hot feature in JMP 8 because you can design and analyze choice studies to find out consumers' preferences in products and services. Reliability analysis is more powerful than ever, with new platforms for Life Distribution, Fit Life By X and Competing Causes. You can now export the popular Bubble Plot and Profiler as Flash animations to use in your presentations and Web pages. JMP can handle international character sets with ease and multiple currency types in a single data table. If you're a SAS user, you'll also like that JMP 8 can connect to SAS 9.1.3 and SAS 9.2 and has a new SAS toolbar for quick access to SAS features.
Join Us Online for the Launch
We're planning a JMP 8 launch party, and you're invited! Join the celebration online this Thursday, Dec. 4, as we mark the launch with a live Webcast from the Georgia Institute of Technology. SAS co-founder and Executive Vice President John Sall, the creator of JMP software, and Dimitri Mavris, Director of Georgia Tech's Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory, will host the 11 a.m. Webcast from the lab. Listen in as Sall highlights some of the new and exciting capabilities of JMP 8, including drag-and-drop graph creation and data exploration; design and analysis of choice experiments; reliability analysis; and export of Bubble Plots and Profilers as Flash animations. Hear Mavris discuss the innovative ways his team uses interactive analysis and data visualization to create the next generation of sophisticated engineering designs at the Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering. JMP fans will be watching the Webcast at events in several US cities, and you can join the party by viewing this presentation live from your desktop. We'll send you a limited-edition launch T-shirt when you register!
JMP® 8 Discovery Starts Here
Walk through many of the new interactive features that abound in JMP 8 with a series of new online videos. Watch them at your desk or project them onto a screen at your next group meeting. Topics include choice experiments, data table enhancements, building graphs using an interactive palette, automated tree building using partitioning and more.
Uncovering Clues to Schizophrenia
At the National Center for Genome Resources, scientists are uncovering clues to the causes of schizophrenia. Researchers there use JMP Genomics for next-generation genetic sequencing that is revolutionizing medical research in brain studies and many other scientific investigations. "Personalized medicine may not be too far off," says Faye Schilkey, Associate Director of NCGR's New Mexico Genome Sequencing Center.
JMP® Goes Global with New French and German Webcasts
Using the French or German versions of JMP? Our global team offers on-demand Webcasts -- three in French and five in German -- to get you started learning and using JMP.
What's So Special About JMP® Genomics?
Find out by taking advantage of our complimentary Web training, live or on demand. Our Getting Started Webcast series shows how JMP Genomics from SAS streamlines genetic, exon and expression analysis -- and how it integrates with Ingenuity Pathways Analysis software to place analysis results into biological context. Register now for Friday's live Webcast, Getting Started with Genetic Analysis in JMP Genomics, from noon to 1:30 p.m. ET. Tune in again Dec. 19, when the topic will be expression analysis. Whether you're already using our software or just curious about its capabilities, take advantage of these training opportunities, delivered free to your desktop.
Elixir® Offers Cure for the Common Guitar String
Elixir Strings helps guitarists make beautiful music. Read how the company uses JMP to help develop and manufacture groundbreaking products, like a new electric guitar cable it recently introduced to the music industry.
Few Webcast: Predictive Analytics for the Eyes and Mind
The best predictive business models are those that present data graphically and reveal more than just the inputs and the outputs with a black box in between. In his live January Webcast, IT innovator, consultant and teacher Stephen Few, Principal of the consultancy Perceptual Edge, will discuss predictive analytics and how they can be displayed in ways that allows our eyes to see relationships and our minds to make sense of them.
Watch and Learn from New Video Blog Posts
Now you can find out about JMP and statistics in a new way: video blog posts. The JMP Blog features two engaging video blog posts by JMP expert and former educator Lee Creighton. Watch as he explains the statistical concept of least squares and shows you tips and tricks for using the Script Editor in JMP.
