Make Your Mark at Discovery Summit
Save the date for Discovery Summit 2010, an interactive forum where theories will be challenged, best practices benchmarked and innovative concepts born. Join us Sept. 13-16 at SAS Headquarters in Cary, NC, to hear from world-renowned authorities in statistics, technology and innovation - including SAS co-founder John Sall, who will kick off the week with the release of JMP 9 and a demo of its new features. Take a look at video clips from last year's keynotes and you'll see how the summit will equip you to explore your own data on a whole new level, ready to implement strategy more efficiently, and inspired to spread analytics excellence across your organization.
Mastering JMP® Live Webcasts
Weekly live Webcasts continue through mid-May, every Thursday and some Mondays. Our Systems Engineers share JMP tips for accelerated life testing, implementing conjoint designs, two-sample statistical analysis, customizing and exporting graphs and more. Q&A is included in each 1-hour session.
A Treasure Trove of Tips and Tricks
JMP technical experts have been busy sharing their tips and tricks in the JMP Blog. Learn a tidbit about Tabulate, pick up some keyboard tips, and find out why the JMP Quick Reference Card is so handy. You can also read about how to save a script to a menu, how to use teaching modules, how to create a simple dashboard, and how best to paste your JMP graphs and reports into PowerPoint and Word.
Future Leaders Hit the Ground Running
Ram Gopal and his colleagues at the University of Connecticut School of Business make sure their programs arm students with the analytic skills businesses seek in new hires. Students use JMP on campus and at the GE-sponsored edgelab. A new Master of Science program in business analytics and project management will integrate both JMP and SAS software into its curriculum.
Let's Meet at SAS® Global Forum
SAS Global Forum is just around the corner, and JMP users and JMP staff will be there presenting papers and previewing exciting new features of JMP 9 (to be released in September). If you're going to Seattle, look for our communications manager, Diana Levey, who will be on the lookout for JMP users. If you are using JMP and SAS together, Diana is particularly eager to meet you and learn about your application. She'll be in the demo room and at JMP paper presentations.
Add JMP to Your Safe Sender List
Don't opt out! You might miss big events and learning opportunities we send your way. E-mail is our primary tool for spreading the word about conferences, workshops, Webcasts, and more. We hope that you will designate JMP and SAS as safe senders to ensure delivery of messages designed to enhance your exploration of analytics.
Becoming Proactive on Health Care
PPG Industries uses JMP to learn which factors put its employees at increased risk of developing chronic disease, how these factors interrelate and what measures will be most effective in preventing disease in employees. As a result, PPG has launched campaigns aimed at keeping employees healthier, enhancing productivity and making better use of health care investments.
SAS® Simulation Studio for JMP® Is Here!
Whether you are a novice or expert, SAS Simulation Studio for JMP lets you harness the power of discrete event simulation to model and analyze critical operational systems in such areas as health care, manufacturing and transportation. The graphical user interface in this new add-on to JMP requires no programming and provides a full set of tools for building, executing and analyzing results of discrete-event simulation models.
Limiting the Spread of Biological Agents
North Carolina State University Professor Jack R. Edwards talks about the Aerospace Engineering Computational Fluid Dynamic Laboratory (AECFDL), where researchers develop novel algorithms and use them to solve complex engineering problems. In this podcast, he speaks about using JMP in particle contaminant transport research and the impact their findings might have for medical and military applications.
Six Sigma and Performance Excellence
Use data your organization already collects to make fact-based decisions that will help you improve yields, increase customer satisfaction, reduce waste and save costs. This new SAS training course teaches you how. And there's a bonus: each participant will receive a free six-month license to use JMP.
JMP® Users Groups: Start One Today
Wish there were a JMP Users Group near you? You aren't the only one. A list of interested contacts is available via the JMP User Community page. Connect with other individuals in your region who are interested in finding a time and place to exchange knowledge, network and benchmark with peers to expand their understanding of JMP applications across disciplines. Whether you want to take a leadership role or simply become an involved member, please get in touch soon!
Learn to Avoid the 'Flaw of Averages'
Sam Savage of Stanford University offers a series of spring seminars designed to change the way you manage risk and return. Choose from events in San Francisco, Chicago and London - and qualify for a discount from JMP, a series sponsor.
