How to Perform Probit Estimation »
Probit regression is a frequently used analysis for dose response experiments with binary outcomes (response / no response). Its application is thoroughly described in JMP Help and Books, but its usage requires at least a basic mathematical understanding; also, it is tedious to use, especially when needed frequently. The solution here is to write a JSL script. All you need to do is to assign the right variables in your data set to the roles needed for the regression using your typical nomenclature and let JMP do the rest.

Ordering Categorical Graph Elements »
When JMP has to put categorical values in order, such as in table rows or a graph axis, it will use alphabetical order if there is no order defined for the column. JMP knows about the order of a few common categorical values, such as month names and Likert scale values. For others, you can add a Value Ordering column property. That's fine for static, predetermined ordering, but what about more dynamic order? For instance, how would you organize a bar chart or histogram so that the bars are in descending order of length? That's a job for Graph Builder's little-known ability to apply an order variable to any categorical axis.

Bridging the Communication Gap »
Applied Clinical Intelligence (ACI) helps pharma companies quickly characterize emerging safety issues found in clinical trial data by bridging the clinical-statistical divide. The research firm uses JMP Clinical, which allows for better conversations between doctors and statisticians.
