Updated Edition of JMP® Start Statistics »
The fifth edition of JMP Start Statistics by John Sall and others at JMP is still the perfect mix of software manual and statistics text. Written in a conversational tone, the book includes discussion of many features of JMP 10, such as new platforms for design, analysis and graphics. The authors have also rewritten the chapter on design of experiments (DOE) to reflect the popularity and utility of optimal designs, and they've added other new sections and chapters that show cutting-edge methods in DOE. Buy it from the SAS Bookstore or get the ebooks version from the iBookstore.

Have you tried... »
…using the transparency setting uncover the density in your plots? Sometimes, if you’re working with lots of data, your plots might appear to be a big blob of points. This makes it's hard to spot important patterns and relationships. Normally, a single data point carries as much visual weight as many data points that are very close together. Using the transparency setting will help you visualize data density. Just right-click in a graph and choose Transparency from the menu. Then, pick a value for how transparent to make the points. After this, watch as JMP lightens the layers of points and gives you a better view of your data.
