Usage Note 35519: Applying the JMP annual site license for JMP 7 and JMP 8
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
When your license is renewed for JMP® 7 or JMP® 8, the designated JMP site representative will receive an email from Contracts Support with the new license data in the form of a text file attachment. This text file should be saved and used to update the license.
If the license is expired (which occurs 90 days after the expiration date specified in the existing license data) JMP will prompt you for a new license when it is invoked. Simply navigate to the license data text file and select it. JMP should process the data and produce a new JMP.per file. The new JMP.per file can then be distributed to all JMP users at your site to replace their old JMP.per file.
If the JMP license has not yet expired, then the process can be initiated from within JMP. Using the menus:
File ► New ► Script
enter the following code into the script window:
and run the script by either right clicking (Control-click on a one button Mac mouse) or using the menu:
Edit ► Run Script
or Control-R. JMP will, as above, ask for the new license data. navigate to the location of the data and JMP will then process the new license data, and if all goes well, produce a new JMP.per file, as above. Check the JMP log for any error messages and if there are none, the process succeeded.
To view the current expiration date, go to:
