On all supported operating systems, a JMP^® data table can be saved as a SAS^® transport file which must be read into SAS using the XPORT engine. Only JMP^® Version 5 (or higher) for Windows can save a JMP data table as a SAS data set.

To save a JMP data table as a SAS data set:

1. Select File ► Save As.
2. Type a name for your file in the File Name box. Note that the maximum length of a data table name depends on the operating system you are using.
3. Select SAS Dataset from the Save As type drop-down menu.
4. (Optional) If you want to save the file using SAS version 6 format (.sd2), click the box next to Use SAS V6 Format (.sd2). If you're using SAS version 7 or higher, do not select this option.
5. (Optional) If you want to save SAS variable names or SAS formats, click the Preserve SAS variable names or Preserve SAS formats check boxes.
6. Click Save.
