The following instructions are for configuring an ODBC driver for Excel
in order for JMP to open an Excel file.

1.  Select Start > Settings > Control Panels from the task bar
  a. If on Win2000 or above, double-click on "Administrative Tools"
2.  Double-click "ODBC Data Sources"
3.  Select the "User DSN" tab
4.  Click Add...
5.  Select "Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)
6.  Click Finish
7.  Enter a name in the "Data Source Name" field
8.  Select the version of Excels files you want to open
9.  Click OK to close the open dialogs

You must restart JMP in order for the new data source to appear in the
File Open dialog as one of the file types.

Note: To use a User DSN through the Open Database Table method, select
the Machine Data Source tab after clicking Connect.
