Usage Note 17199: Where is JMPAdmin for JMP 6 software?
In previous releases of JMP software, a separate tool called JMPAdmin
was available for updating the license data. Beginning with JMP 6, the
JMPadmin tool is incorporated into the JMP software itself.
If the license is expired, then invoking JMP 6 will produce a requestor
box asking if you would like to update the license, and a "yes" reply
will then invoke the tool directly.
If the license has not yet expired, or in the grace period, and you wish
to update the license, then invoke JMP 6, open a script window from the
menus:
File --> New --> Script
and type the following into the script window:
renew license();
then run the script (right-click in the script window and select "Run
Script", or from the menus: Edit --> Run Script).
A requestor box will ask if you have an electronic copy. If you reply
"yes", it will ask for the location of a text file which it will then
try to parse for the license data. This is not always successful due to
extraneous text. If you reply "no", a form is presented where the
information can be typed, or copied and pasted from a source file.
Once the data has been entered, the file should be "saved" on Windows or
Linux systems into the JMP directory or the location referenced by the
"JMP Personalization directory" in the file preferences, or "installed"
on Macintosh systems into the JMP package.
The resulting JMP.per file can then be distributed to all licensed users
within an organization.
