Al Bartolucci

Dr. Bartolucci is Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He has over 30 years experience in designing and analyzing clinical trials. He has served as the chief statistician for several NIH sponsored studies in Oncology including the Southeastern Cancer Study Group and the Urologic Oncology Group. These have involved over 30 to 40 ongoing trials. Also he was a chief statistician for the Gulf War Studies in post traumatic stress syndrome after the first Gulf War in the early nineties. He has over 250 publications in the clinical trial area including oncology, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology , rheumatology, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders. He also performs basic laboratory statistical analysis for the National Toxicology Program and the Southern Research Institute including analyses in bioterrorism projects for the Department of Homeland Security. Dr Bartolucci consults extensively with the pharmaceutical industry and is familiar with FDA rules and regulations regarding statistical issues of Phase 1, 2 and 3 Trials and preclinical trials as well. He has also performed studies of heat pump reliability for electrical power generating companies in the southeast. He consults regularly with the Section on Statistical Genetics in the Department of Biostatistics at UAB. Dr. Bartolucci has been working with and use JMP for consultations and class instruction since 2001.
