Shirley Coleman

Technical Director, ISRU, Newcastle University

Dr Shirley Coleman is Chair of the ENBIS Six Sigma Practitioners’ Circle and Technical Director of ISRU, the Industrial Statistics Research Unit at Newcastle University. With ISRU, she developed Six Sigma training material as part of a European collaboration and has delivered tailor made Lean Six Sigma programmes to NHS Trusts and to US and European manufacturing companies. She presented a Six Sigma in Healthcare workshop and paper on Quality by Design at RSS 2008 in Nottingham and was a keynote speaker on Six Sigma in Belgium and Portugal in 2008. She also conducts courses in MSPC and DoE for the process industries. She is co-editor of a wide-ranging book aimed at statistical practitioners Statistical Practice in Business and Industry published by Wiley and arising from the EU supported pro-ENBIS thematic network. Her research work includes data visualisation, Kansei and Delphi customer relations exploration and improving accessibility and implementation of Lean Six Sigma.
