Configuring your analysis workspace with JMP® Projects
Do you frequently work with one maximized window at a time, miss the master window of JMP 8, or have window management frustrations? If you answered yes to any of these, JMP Projects can help you improve your workflow.
Projects provide a single document interface to JMP. This tabbed, re-configurable workspace lets you bookmark files and view a window list to easily navigate many open windows, data tables, reports, scripts and more, plus launch supporting files (e.g., PDF and PPT). Projects can be used to quickly open and close many files associated with multiple analysis activities and keep parallel projects separate without running multiple JMP sessions.
There are two ways to create a new project:
- File > New > Project, which creates a new project from scratch.
- Window > Move to/from Project, which allows you to move windows between projects and the main JMP session.
If you choose to move windows to and from projects, note the following in the "Move Windows to Project" dialog box:
- Source Project dropdown: Use (None) when moving windows in from the main JMP session. Windows can also be moved from open projects; the names of any open projects will automatically populate the drop-down menu.
- Destination Project dropdown: Use (None) when moving windows out of an open project into the main JMP session. Otherwise, select the name of a currently open project, or (New Project), as desired.
