Using the JMP Tools Menu

JMP Tools can be used for selecting, grabbing, and magnifying points in your reports. JMP Tools can be found under the Tools menu or toolbar and are particularly useful when working in reports and JMP Journals. If you are new to JMP, a good place to start using Tools is understanding how the Selection Tool works in reports and JMP Journals and using the default Arrow Tool and Lasso Tool for selecting points on graphs. Each tool has a shortcut key on the keyboard that can be found within the parentheses when you hover over the tool in the toolbar. Read the latest post by JMP Systems Engineer Andrea Coombs to learn how to use each JMP Tool when interacting with your reports.

Preparing for a Discovery Summit 2020 Online Experience

JMP is always excited to host an extraordinary Discovery Summit Cary experience, and this year is no different. Well, it is slightly different since Discovery Summit "from" Cary will now be online. This year's Steering Committee has selected a great lineup of paper and e-poster presentations, and our flagship conference event will still be collaborative and engaging with curious people and conversations. Mark your calendar for Discovery Summit in October and be sure to stay tuned for coming details.

Have you tried...

...using the special Row State data type to save settings or attributes? If you spend time coloring, marking, selecting, or excluding rows and want to make sure they're saved for later use, try making a New Column, change the data type to Row States and use that new Column to re-apply row state information when you return to your analysis. Watch this short video to see an example of how to use Row States.

See JMP Tips and Tricks for more short videos on using JMP.
