Functional Design of Experiments Explained

Have you heard the term "Functional Design of Experiments" and wondered what it was? Or if it could be useful to you? Curve, or "functional," data is everywhere and occurs whenever we measure something over a continuum, like measuring temperature over time, pressure gradient across space or radiation absorption across wavelength. Sometimes, the shapes of the curves we measure are important to us, and we want to know how curve shape is affected by certain factors. How do we figure out how some factors might affect it? The answer: Functional Design of Experiments. Watch this video for a deeper dive into Functional Design of Experiments and how you can use it.

Have you tried...

...separating the data values contained in a column into multiple new columns? This may be necessary when your data is in a vertical format and the analysis you want to perform or graph you want to create in JMP requires the data to be structured in a horizontal manner. Watch this short video to see an example of how to use JMP Split to restructure your data.
