A look at Discovery Summit Europe 2019

Discovery Summit Europe was packed with plenary sessions, user-led breakout sessions and developer-led demos. This year, John Sall, SAS co-founder and Executive Vice President, revealed some of his favorite hidden JMP features in an engaging keynote.

JMP users presented a variety of ways the software helps them solve problems, and attendees voted for their favorite ePoster and paper sessions

Be sure to review and share not only the top-voted presentations, but also the materials from all available Discovery Summit Europe 2019 presentations.

Also, join us for the next Discovery event — Discovery Summit China in Shenzhen on April 18.

Viz of the Month

We asked Discovery Summit Europe 2019 attendees to tell us about themselves. This month's visualization presents what they shared. You can even compare these attendees with those who attended Discovery Summit 2018.

Using the Column Dialog() function for column selection

Column Dialog() is a built-in function that allows you to quickly generate a modal dialog to prompt users to select columns from the current data table. The script author simply selects the types of display boxes to show in the dialog. Here is an example script that prompts the user to select two X columns and two Y columns.

The window presented to the user looks like this:

Now that you've seen a Column Dialog() example, you can incorporate unloading the list of columns for use in your analysis in a couple of ways. Read the blog post to see how to do this and to see the New Window() function, which allows you to generate a modal or non-modal window for anything from prompting a user to select columns to alerting the user with important information.

Discovery 2019 Call for Content

JMP users are some of the best teachers, motivating Discovery Summit attendees to learn more in the breakout sessions they lead. We invite you to submit a brief abstract describing how you've solved real problems using JMP. If your abstract is selected, you'll lead your own session at Discovery Summit Oct. 15-18 in Tucson.

Need some inspiration? See topics presented at previous Discovery Summit conferences.

Call for papers closes Friday, April 26, at 8 p.m. ET.

Have you tried...

...Tabulate to explore your data? JMP Tabulate allows you to create interactive presentation tables. To use the Tabulate platform, go to Analyze > Tabulate and drag desired variables to the drop zones to create your table. Watch this video to see how to use this platform for your data exploration.
