Anissa Knox
General Counsel

Anissa Knox leads the Legal team at JMP Statistical Discovery, a subsidiary of SAS that provides interactive and highly visual statistical discovery software to scientists and engineers. As General Counsel, Knox advises the company in all legal matters, including risk exposure, product strategy, growth initiatives, and building long-term business operations and relationships.
Knox has nearly three decades of combined in-house and private practice legal experience that includes client agreements, procurement, venture capital and other equity financing transactions, joint ventures and other partnering relationships, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). She has also advised and counseled companies on effective corporate structuring, governance, regulatory, and employment law matters.
Nine years after graduating from law school, Knox recognized that her natural tendency was to dive deeper into a company’s business and operations than was generally warranted by the problem-focused approach inherent in private practice. Deciding that she was best suited for an in-house environment, Knox transitioned from private practice to a corporate setting. She has managed customer relationships, M&A, and business activities, as well as high-dollar litigation. Most recently while at Livingston International, Knox addressed legal/business issues and activities across all six of Livingston’s lines of business and internal support teams. Her industry experience is quite diverse and includes global trade management, technology, high-speed racing, healthcare, food distribution, and life sciences.
Knox received both her undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University.
