Learn how GSK’s Design of Experiments approach has resulted in a more efficient development process and delivered greater understanding and control of their drug production processes

You’ve done some fabulous chemistry and want to make the most of it, how do you take that new reaction or process and make it work harder for you?

There are different approaches to designing your experimental strategy and here we will share one based on the sequential use of Design of Experiments (DoE) in JMP to help you build an understanding of which factors can influence your reaction. Whether you are looking at ways to increase the yield, decrease the impurities or design a reproducible process, Design of Experiments can provide some useful insights in the most efficient way possible.

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has devised a DoE methodology using JMP that has accelerated their development of new drugs and robust production processes.

During this webinar you will learn how DoE:

  • provides greater process understanding
  • delivers more robust and reliable processes
  • reduces the time and resources required to develop a stable and repeatable process or product

Speakers

Speaker: Gill Turner

Quality by design lead and development chemist, GSK

Gill joined GSK after studying organic chemistry at Manchester and a PhD on oligonucleotide synthesis at Edinburgh. She worked as a synthetic chemist in process development before specialising in automation and Design of Experiments. This led to her current role as a Quality by Design Lead working across the project portfolio in late-phase development.

Speaker: Robert Anderson

JMP Senior Systems Engineer, SAS

Robert Anderson is Senior Statistical Consultant for JMP and an enthusiastic practitioner of DOE and methods for Six Sigma. Prior to joining JMP, Anderson worked for more than 25 years in the semiconductor industry as a senior yield management consultant.

Moderator: Benjamin Valsler

Digital Editor, Chemistry World

Ben Valsler is the digital editor of Chemistry World magazine, producing video and podcasts to accompany the magazine and website. Prior to joining the Royal Society of Chemistry, he was the producer of the award-winning Naked Scientists, making local and national radio programmes for the BBC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Primedia in South Africa.
