Automating Analysis and Reporting Using JMP Scripts
Scripting Basics
The presenter demonstrates and describes the import characteristics of JMP scripts including turning on the script log and line numbers, color coding and other tools that simplify JSL editing. He uses and example to describes how some code works, such as Open and Names Default to Here.
Scripting Example Using Utility Data
The presenter uses gas and electric utility data to demonstrate how to examine, understand and edit JSL scripts when opening data from excel, manipulating and visualizing the data, saving visualizations to script, adding variable handles, manually updating auto-generated variable handles, and saving the final script. He graphs and summarizes data, joins summarized tables with data from a new table, performs analysis on the combined tables, and shows how to assure that the composite script is complete. He concludes by reminding you that you can save the final output to PowerPoint.
