Understanding Variation: Assessing Process Behavior

Quality Tools for Process Improvement Methodologies

A process that is off target, too variable or out of control can result in delays, rework, or defects, which in turn often lead to higher costs and unsatisfied customers. Because of this, it’s important to understand and quantify the sources of variation within a process.

Join us and learn how to:

  • Distinguish between common cause and special-cause variation
  • Assess the health of a process, whether it’s for a few variables or many using Process Capability and Process Screening in JMP
  • Use the interactive Control Chart builder to detect process shifts to prevent unnecessary process shifts and reduce defects.
