The digitization of oil and gas wells in recent years has led to the creation of massive repositories of subsurface data. This evolution places new challenges on traditional data analysis methods commonly used for decision making. Furthermore, with an increased interest in unconventional resources, the need for more sophisticated analytics to understand the complexities of fracture characteristics has never been more pressing.
Join us for a complimentary seminar where you’ll learn to apply new data mining strategies that can help tackle some of the key challenges facing the oil and gas industry today. We will use industry case studies to demonstrate best practices for applying interactive and visual data mining techniques to challenge assumptions, spot patterns and reveal potential solutions to problems that otherwise might not be visible.
We will demonstrate best practices for:
- Identifying appropriate problems for predictive analytics.
- Exploring and preparing data for analysis.
- Using a variety of techniques, including decision trees and neural networks, to build accurate predictive models.
- Evaluating the quality of data mining models.
- Simplifying continuous data streamed from sensors or batch processes for use in predictive or desciptive models.
This seminar is designed for analysts, scientists, engineers and researchers interested in learning how data mining can help achieve optimal results.
