Endpoint Type
Use this option to specify the endpoint type.
| 8 | Choose Continuous for the treatment effect to represent the difference in means for the endpoint between pairs of treatments. |
This treatment effect will further be determined by the Plot findings measurements as: option. For example, if Observed Result is selected, the treatment effect will be the difference in means for the endpoint based on the observed values. If Change from Baseline is selected, the treatment effect represents the difference in mean change from baseline.
| 8 | Choose Categorical to analyze an endpoint as a binary outcome. |
In general, the endpoint is produced such that values > 0 will be considered a “response”, while values equal to 0 will be considered a “non-response”. Categorical treatment effects represent the difference in proportions, where the proportion is defined as the proportion of patients having a “response”.
Note: At the current time, analyses specific to time-to-event endpoints that summarize hazard ratios or differences in mean survival are not available, so comparing the mean follow-up time between treatments is the approach taken here.
