NetAffx Download Engine
The NetAffx Download Engine is a JMP Scripting Language (JSL) script that facilitates your identification and download of annotation, library, map, or other accessory files used with Affymetrix arrays. These files, which are associated with different microarrays produced by Affymetrix, are often required for data analysis.
What do I need?
Before you can successfully access, download, and unzip files from the Affymetrix website, you must register with Affymetrix and provide a valid e-mail address and password. You can register, free of charge, at http://www.affymetrix.com/estore. The first time you access the Affymetrix website using the NetAffx Download Engine, you are asked to enter your e-mail and password. JMP Genomics remembers this information and submits it automatically thereafter, every time you use this process.
This process surfaces every file associated with all of the arrays, and groups them by organism. You should know which files you need before using this process.
Important: If you access the Internet through a proxy server, you must note this in the dialogs. A proxy server is a server that sits between a web browser and an external server on the web to filter requests, improve performance, and share connections. If your computer accesses the Internet through a proxy server, you must run the File > Configure Genomics Settings process to specify your proxy name and port number before you run this process. Contact your system administrator if you are unsure of whether you use a proxy server.
For detailed information about the files and data sets used or created by JMP Life Sciences software, see Files and Data Sets.
