Number of Permutations

The number of permutations specifies the number of simple random Monte Carlo permutations for computing a Minor Arc p-value. For each permutation, the algorithm computes the t-statistic of the best Minor Arc partition. The proportion of permutations whose t-statistic is greater than the t-statistic of the original partition equals the Minor Arc p-value. {link}{Emphasis}Alpha is compared to the sum of the Minor Arc and Major Arc p-values.
