Marker Type

Use this field to specify the variable from the input SAS data set that defines cross type (as defined by for each marker in the study) used in the outcrossing study.

Possible cross types1 are described in the table below:

Cross Type:

Description:

A

Loci are heterozygous in both parents. All four codominant alleles are different and segregate in a 1:1:1:1 ratio.

B1

Loci are heterozygous in both parents. All four alleles are different (three alleles are codominant and one allele is null ) and segregate in a 1:2:1 ratio.

B2

The reciprocal of B1.

B3

Loci are heterozygous in both parents. Both parents have the same genotype. Alleles are codominant.

C

Loci are heterozygous in both parents. Both parents have the same genotype. One of the alleles is null.

D1

Locus in one parent is heterozygous, locus in the other parent is homozygous.

D2

Reciprocals of D1

To Specify the Marker Type Variable:

8 Specify the Annotation SAS Data Set.

All of the variables in the specified input SAS data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

8 Examine the list of available variables.
8 Highlight the variable whose values indicate the cross type.
8 Click to add the highlighted variable to the Marker Type field, as shown below:
