Process Description

Bin

Copy number data sets are often quite large and analyses with these large data sets require significant computational resources and time. It is often useful, particularly for preliminary analyses of the major features in the data, to bin the observations into groups. The Copy Number Bin process performs simple binning and reduces the total number of rows in the main data set to a more manageable number.

What do I need?

One Input Data Set containing chromosome and position information along with the intensity data is all that is needed to run this process. An example is the xtitration.sas7bdat data set shown below.

Columns 2 and 3 list chromosome and positional information, respectively. Intensity data are listed in columns 5 through 14.

Output/Results

The output generated by this process is summarized in a Results window. Refer to the Bin output documentation for detailed descriptions and guides to interpreting your results.
