Process Description

Track Gene Web

The Track Gene Web process creates a settings (.sas) file that defines a display track for a set of genes to be added to JMP Genomics statistical results (for example, you can include plots of -log10(p-values) along chromosome). The resulting settings file can then be selected as a track file for embellishing graphics with depictions of genes.

What do I need?

A connection to the Internet.

For detailed information about the files and data sets used or created by JMP Genomics software, see Files and Data Sets.

Output/Results

Running the Track Gene Text process results in the generation of a setting file (for example, TrackGeneWeb__UCSC_hg19_refGene.sas), whose path is displayed in a JMP Genomics Message window.

8      If you open this file with a text editor, SAS code is shown. See the example below.

Important: The settings file contains the path to the text file defining the track. If the text file is moved into another directory, you must either run Track Gene Text to define a setting with its new location, or edit the path in the settings file to reflect the new location.

This file can be used with any JMP Genomics process having a Tracks tab.
