Test Std Dev

Use the Test Std Dev option to perform a one-sample test for the standard deviation (details in Neter et al. 1990). Use the Test Std Dev option repeatedly to test different values. Each time you test the standard deviation, a new Test Standard Deviation report appears.

Test Statistic

Provides the value of the Chi-square test statistic. See Standard Deviation Test.

Min PValue

The probability of obtaining a more extreme Chi-square value by chance alone when the population standard deviation does not differ from the hypothesized value. See Standard Deviation Test.

Prob>ChiSq

The probability of obtaining a Chi-square value greater than the computed sample Chi-square by chance alone when the population standard deviation is not different from the hypothesized value. This is the p-value for observed significance of a one-tailed t test.

Prob<ChiSq

The probability of obtaining a Chi-square value less than the computed sample Chi-square by chance alone when the population standard deviation is not different from the hypothesized value. This is the p-value for observed significance of a one-tailed t test.
