Before you begin using JMP, you should be familiar with the following concepts and tasks.
A JMP data table is a collection of data that is organized in rows and columns. You should know how to enter, view, edit, and manipulate data using data tables. See Understand Data Tables.
Platforms contain interactive windows that you use to analyze data and work with graphs. You select a platform from the Analyze, Graph, or DOE menus. Platforms use the following windows:
• Launch windows where you set up and run your analysis.
• Report windows that show the output of your analysis. Report windows normally contain the following items:
– A graph of some type (such as a scatterplot or a chart)
– Specific reports that you can show or hide using the disclosure icon![]()
– Platform options that are located within red triangle menus ![]()
