Label Variable

Use this field to specify the variable from the input data set that is used to label all points in the plots.

To Specify a Label Variable:

Specify the {link}{Emphasis}Input SAS Data Set or {link}{Emphasis}Annotation SAS Data Set (whichever applies).

All of the variables in the specified input data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

Examine the list of available variables.

Highlight the variable whose values are to be used to label points in the output plots.

Click to add the highlighted variable(s) to the Label Variable field, as shown below:

The figure below is part of a scatterplot matrix generated during a principal components analysis of the Nicardipine data set. Mousing over any of the points calls up a text box revealing the identity of the point as defined by the value in the label variable.
