Trait Variables

Use this field to specify trait variables to be tested for association with the marker variables.

Specific types of trait variables might be required, depending on the process that you are running.

Note: If you select more than one trait variable, they must all be of the same type (binary, for example).

The table below lists process-specific requirements:

The traits must be binary.

Note: If the Dominant, Recessive, and/or MAX tests are selected on the Options tab, the trait variables must be numeric with values 0 and 1.

Genetics Q-K Analysis Workflow

Binary, continuous, and ordinal traits are all valid.

Genetics Rare Variants Workflow

Binary, continuous, count, and survival traits are all valid.

Specify the trait type using the Type of Trait drop-down menu.

Haplotype Trend Regression

QTL IM, CIM and MIM Analysis

The traits must be continuous.

Imputed SNP-Trait Association

Binary, continuous, count, nominal, ordinal, and survival traits are all valid.

Marker-Trait Association

Binary, continuous, count, nominal, ordinal, and survival traits are all valid.

Multiple SNP-Trait Association

PCA for Population Stratification

The traits must either be numeric binary or continuous.

Q-K Mixed Model

Binary, continuous, and ordinal, traits are all valid.

The traits must be continuous.

SNP-SNP Interactions

Binary, continuous, count, nominal, ordinal, and survival traits are all valid.

To Specify One or More Trait Variables:

8 Specify the Input SAS Data Set.

All of the variables in the specified data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

8 Examine the list of available variables.
8 Highlight the desired variables. Left-click a single variable, or hold down while left-clicking multiple variables.
8 Click to add the highlighted variable to the Trait Variables field, as shown below:
