You can apply one or more tags to any column to help organize, identify, and manage data.
There are multiple ways to tag a column:
• from a column’s header
• from the Columns panel
• from the Columns Manager
• from the Column Info window
When applied, tags appear in the Columns panel, Tags panel, column grid headers, and other places where column metadata is displayed. You can use tags to group or filter columns in various parts of JMP.
To add a tag to a column from a column’s header
1. Open a data table.
2. Right-click a column’s header and select Column Properties > Tags.
The Column Properties window appears for the selected column.
3. Select an existing tag from the available tags list or create a new tag by selecting the Plus (
) button to open the New Tag window.
4. Click OK.
To tag a column from the Columns panel
1. Open a data table.
2. In the Columns panel, right-click the column to which you want to add a tag.
3. Select the existing tag that you want to apply to the column from the Tags submenu.
To create a new tag to add to the specified Column, select Tags > Add Tag and follow the steps for creating a new tag.
To tag a column from the Column Info window
1. Open a data table.
2. Click the column header or a column cell to which you want to add a tag.
3. Select Cols > Column Info.
The Column Info window appears for the selected column.
4. Select the existing tag that you want to apply to the column from the Tags submenu.
To create a new tag to add to the specified Column, select Tags > Add Tag and follow the steps for creating a new tag.
