JMP 14 Windows Installers Contain Both 32-bit and 64-bit Files

The JMP 14 and JMP Pro 14 annual license Windows installers contain the files needed to run in 32-bit mode and in 64-bit mode. The communication you receive from SAS may indicate 64-bit, but note that the installers contain both 32-bit and 64-bit.

Windows: On 32-bit PCs, the installer will only load 32-bit files. On 64-bit PCs, you will be prompted to install either 32-bit or 64-bit files.

Macintosh: The installer will load a binary with a 64-bit executable.

Deciding on whether to install 32-bit or 64-bit version

If you are installing JMP or JMP Pro on a 64-bit version of Windows operating system, you will be prompted to install either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of JMP. Please be aware of the following consequences when considering which version of JMP to install.

  • Database ODBC drivers (such as MS Access, SQL Server, and Oracle) will need to have the matching 32-bit or 64-bit version of the ODBC driver installed, to match the bit version of JMP.
  • JMP graphics performance degradation on older Intel processors with MMX technology. Installing JMP Pro 64-bit version will result in slower performance if your computer has an older Intel processor with MMX technology. This is due to the unavailability of 64-bit drivers for the Intel MMX processor.
