With 700 pages of documentation, JMP 2 is delivered on floppy disk, requiring 2 MB of memory.

1998


The first international JMP office opens in Tokyo.

2000

JMP 4 runs on Windows! Supporting JMP Scripting Language (JSL), it also includes profilers, time series forecasting and new smoothing models.


AT&T introduces text messaging in the U.S.

2005

JMP 6 features data mining tools such as decision trees and neural nets.


The first European JMP office opens in Marlow, UK.

YouTube launches. The first upload is video of elephants at the San Diego Zoo.

2006


Shanghai is the home for JMP's first Chinese office.


JMP Genomics - a groundbreaking predictive modeling platform for genomics and other life sciences biomarker data - is released.


Nintendo Wii revolutionizes video game play.

2007


With JMP 7, users have access to control charts, elementary design of experiments (DOE), survival features, Graph Builder and dynamic bubble plots. JMP can now connect and retrieve data from SAS servers.


The smartphone changes the way the public looks at phones. Steve Jobs described it as "a widescreen iPod with touch controls, a revolutionary mobile phone and a breakthrough internet communications device."

2008


In a simulcast from venues across the U.S., John Sall launches JMP 8, which boasts drag-and-drop features, reliability modeling, choice experiments and support for life distributions.


The Kindle launches, making it possible to take multiple books to read on the beach with one device.

2009


JMP takes its message on the road with the Explorers Thought Leader Seminar Series.


Chicago hosts the first Discovery Summit, with best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell as its headliner.

2010


JMP Clinical launches and is immediately adopted by the FDA.

SAS is named #1 Company in the U.S. to Work For.


JMP 9 includes a new interface with the R programming language, an add-in for Excel and a new degradation platform.

JMP Pro is added to the JMP family of products, enabling scientists and engineers to perform more sophisticated analyses.

2012


JMP 10 brings improvements in data mining, predictive analytics, and automated model building.


The Analytically Speaking webinar series launches with foremost data scientists discussing cutting-edge analytics.


The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrates the 60th anniversary of Elizabeth II's accession to the British throne.

2013


JMP participates in the International Year of Statistics.


JMP 11 and JMP Pro 11 include an Excel import wizard, advanced features for DOE, uplift modeling, reliability block diagrams and generalized regression.

2014


Discovery Summit Japan debuts in Tokyo.


Virtual reality gains momentum rapidly after Facebook's purchase of Oculus VR.

2015

WIth JMP 12 comes Query Builder, the Covering Arrays Platform and the ever-popular recode function for data preparation and clean up. 


Brussels welcomes the first Discovery Summit Europe.

2016

JMP 13 introduces various improvements to reporting and handling of large data sets in memory.


Shenzhen is the first city to host Discovery Summit China.


The giant panda is moved from the endangered species list to a "vulnerable" species.

2018


JMP Public creates a public space for sharing JMP data, visualizations and dashboards.


The Belize Great Barrier Reef is removed from the UNESCO list of threatened world heritage sites.

2019

JMP 15 enhances recode, Graph Builder and generalized regressions, and includes a new group orthogonal super-saturated design for DOE.


JMP Live enables live collaboration, taking JMP's robust statistics and interactive visualizations online.
