JMP® software, National Semiconductor Corporation and Thomas A. Little Consulting align to achieve significant results from Six Sigma® initiative The practice of Six Sigma® really works. It takes an organization that is willing to dedicate time and resources to the cause, a consultant with a fundamental understanding of the business challenge coupled with a comprehensive Six Sigma curriculum aimed at the right people, and a versatile statistical analysis tool that provides the methods and details to generate results. READ MORE Interactive Demonstrations of Statistical Concepts Using JMP The following from the Interactive Demonstrations of Statistical Concepts Using JMP workshop presented by Dr. Mark Bailey at the Joint Statistical Meetings. The documentation and sample JSL scripts are available on the JMP website. Statistical science is profound and often counter-intuitive. Rigorous mathematical presentations of these theories may be correct and complete but essential ideas may be lost on the students. The most important principles of the theory may not be conspicuous through traditional teaching materials. Computer technology can make a theory more understandable and the lessons more compelling. In addition to simulation and statistical data visualization, computer animation and interactivity make the ideas come alive. READ MORE JMP Software: A Qt Customer Success Story
Developed by JMP, a business unit of SAS, JMP software dynamically links statistics with graphics and allows users to visualize, interactively explore, and discover relationships in their data. This capability speeds and enhances data analysis for business process improvements, scientific research, product design and development, and manufacturing. The JMP solution also has widespread use in organizations that are intent on achieving Six Sigma performance levels. So successful was JMP on the Windows® and Macintosh® platforms that executives decided to port it to Linux®. "We needed to find a class library that would be compatible with our existing architecture," recalls Richard C. Potter, Senior Software Manager for JMP. JMP's existing code base is approximately 500,000 lines of code. READ MORE New JMP Live Web Class on Statistical Data Exploration Learn the fundamentals of exploratory data analysis using JMP and become familiar with statistical concepts such as confidence intervals and t-tests. This one-day course introduces JMP, its philosophy, and its extensive graphical data exploration capabilities. Students learn to perform elementary exploratory data analysis (EDA) and discover natural patterns in data. Important statistical concepts such as confidence intervals and t-tests are also introduced. Students use JMP to learn to navigate through JMP menus, dialogs, and results; manage data; save and present results in various formats; use decision trees in the EDA context; and obtain and interpret descriptive and inferential statistics. To learn more about this and other courses, visit JMP Training. READ MORE Vote for a Future Live Web class on JMP Help us decide which topics we should offer as Live Web classes. SAS Education is conducting a survey of which classes you want offered over the web. Cast your vote for any three JMP courses you would like to have offered as a Live Web class. READ MORE JMP Software: A Brief Introduction
