Sam Gardner is a Senior Product Manager at JMP. His previous roles at JMP include working as a Systems Engineer in regional sales and technical enablement. Sam started his career as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, where he had assignments as a military analyst performing weapon systems modeling and simulation, aircraft system test and evaluation planning and analysis, and human factors and visual perception R&D. He also served on the faculty at the Air Force Institute of Technology as an Instructor of statistics. After his military service, Sam joined Eli Lilly and Company, where he worked as a statistician and chemist in pharmaceutical manufacturing and process development, as well as in the advanced analytics group at Lilly doing advanced predictive modeling. Sam later joined Elanco Animal Health as the lead statistician in pharmaceutical process development. Prior to his current position, Sam worked as an independent statistical consultant for several pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Sam holds a bachelor's in mathematics and chemistry from Purdue University, a masters in applied mathematics from Creighton University, and an masters in statistics from the University of Kentucky. He is the co-author of Building Better Models with JMP Pro. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the US Pharmacopeia’s Statistics Expert Committee.
