Use JMP’s interactive capability plus simple scripting to create an updatable report that you can also embed into an MS Word or PowerPoint document. This webinar is designed as a tutorial. Updated September 1, 2015.
Presenter: Byron Wingerd
In the first part of this case study, the presenter demonstrates how to use JMP to collect, interpret, and modify simple scripts to build a JSL automated report. He shows and describes how to build a script that includes opening data tables, calculating additional statistics from a JMP report, deleting selective rows, manipulating columns, and accessing the JMP tree structure to locate identifier such as those for table boxes.
In the second part of this case study, the presenter demonstrates how to use JMP to collect source code for complex functions like building summary tables and combining tables. He shows how to replace specific references with relative references, move and rename columns, and use expressions to embed graphs. He shows how to easily create a PDF, graphics, and interactive reports including using new window objects to create report frames, add titles and page breaks, format layout, create panel boxes for graphics, and use the directory and path commands to specify file locations. He concludes by showing how to save a report as a graphic file, open an MS Word or PPT document and insert and link a graphic that will be updated with a fresh copy of the graphic the next time it is opened.
The presenter demonstrates answers to scripting questions about defining an object, writing a script that will ask what file to open and changing data types. Updated Sept. 1, 2015.
